New Braunfels, TX

Posted by sandyalves on December 12, 2015

I’ve heard about New Braunfels, TX most of my life. It is where my Great-great-great grandfather settled after his arrival into Galveston, TX. I never really paid much attention to the stories being told to me. I should have listened more attentively. They were important. I’ve written a blog on my discoveries of my heritage so I will only mention here that going to New Braunfels was my catalyst for this trip. I wanted to learn more about my heritage and I wanted to see where my Alves roots all began here in the US. I was not disappointed! I got what I wanted.

To continue the theme of eating our way across America I must mention our dinner at the Gruene River Grill where we had the balsamic ribeye. Again, an amazing meal! And then a Jerry Jeff Walker concert at Gruene Hall.
