Galveston, TX

Posted by sandyalves on December 13, 2015

What a crazy place. I loved all the houses built on their stilts. We stayed at Galveston State Beach. It was really fun being on the Gulf Coast. I have never been on the Gulf Coast on the US side of continent. The water was warm, the sun was bright and the beach went for miles and miles.

We visited the Texas Seaport Museum where the Galveston Immigration Database is housed. Located my Great-great-great grandfather’s name on a ship list for the Gesina that arrived in Galveston, TX on Jan. 2, 1946. It also looks like he traveled with his brother Ludwig, who died in Fredericksburg, TX about 7 months after they reached Texas.

I almost forgot to mention the Liquid Marijuana cocktails we had on the Poop Deck!
