We are currently taking it easy in Biloxi, MS and Ocean Springs at the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Beautiful but cold. We’ll be here for several days. Pretty much just relaxing until we head back to New Orleans for some Pre Mardi Gras fun and parades in a couple of weeks. The destruction left behind from Hurricane Katrina is still evident. Two full blocks in from the beach everything was gone. Some have rebuilt but most of the land is still for sale. There are iron markers all over the county where historical buildings use to stand. This community is desperately struggling to survive, it might be years before they thrive.
