Glen Canyon at Page, AZ

Posted by sandyalves on November 7, 2015

We have been at Glen Canyon for several days now. In our short time here we have seen a hot air balloon regata with a night glow of the balloons as well as an early morning flight of about 25 or so balloons. We toured the Glen Canyon Dam and have taken several short hikes in the area. One of which was to a wonderful place named White Pocket. We forewent the lottery attempt at a permit to see the Wave and instead went with a guide for an eight hour adventure along a very long dirt and deep sand road. Once there we spent about 3 hours photographing and wondering over the most beautiful sandstone formations. Oh, and we saw the missile launch! Yes we could see it from our campsite, only at the time we didn’t know what it was.

There is so much more to see here. We will definitely return to hike to the Wave and to do a four night overnight trip through Buckskin Gulch. It’s just too cold to do a backpacking trip now.

I hope you enjoy the pictures. I’m having so much fun taking them.
