Shenandoah Valley, VA

We just missed the Civil War reenactment at New Market on May 15. Maybe we can make it next year, May 20 and 21, 2017. But we were able to hike a very small part of the Appalachian Trail.

We also got to see Luray Caverns. The cavern is best known for the Great Stalacpipe Organ, a lithophone made from solenoid fired strikers that tap stalactites of various sizes to produce tones similar to those of xylophones, tuning forks, or bells. (wikipedia)
