We got up early so we could get to Fiesta Key in time to do something fun for the day. Fiesta Key is about half way down the Keys north of Marathon. We had planned to bike the 7 Mile Bridge which was an old railroad thoroughfare that had been converted to a walking/riding path.
Unfortunately, it stops abruptly about a mile and a half down the bridge. We really enjoyed the ride, but were disappointed that it didn’t go the entire 7 miles.
We did see a ray though.
There is always tomorrow. For now, a sunset and a rum punch at our tiki bar!
On Sunday we had a quick breakfast, and headed for Key West. We walked around the town for a while, I went for a quick tour of the Hemingway House while Caleb took Pippin for a walk.
For lunch we went to Eaton Street Seafood Market and had a lobster roll and some ceviche. The lobster roll was excellent.
Then we headed up near Boca Chica Key and went on an Eco Tour (kayak) around the mangrove forests. We saw some birds, a shark and some amazing jelly fish.
We had dinner at Blue Heaven. I had their amazing yellow tail signature dish and Caleb had scallop and shrimp appetizers. We shared the best Key Lime pie in the world!
We missed the sunset that night but we didn’t miss it our last night in Key West.
