We got up early and were on the road shortly after 7:00. We got into Rotonda a little after 1:00 and after getting the trailer set up in the Gauthier driveway, I brought out the tequila and we all sat by the pool chatting. The boys were off to go play golf with the grandparents. After golf, all the boys had about an hour-long keep away game in the pool while Karen and I did what we do best – drank. We had an excellent evening of burgers, mixed potato veggies and just hung out talking. Oh and we got to sleep in the house, in our own bedroom!
The next day Caleb, Ron and the boys and all went to the Rays/Bucks game. The Rays won 5-1 and a very nice ballpark in Charlotte County. After the game we had a very nice dinner, and the Gauthier’s neighbor, Leslie came over and we talked. We had the pleasure of watching the Republican debate with Mary. I think she was in shock. I know I have been.
Beach Day!
I played hooky today to go to the beach with everyone. We got up and took Pippin for a walk and had breakfast and then headed over to Venice Beach with Karen, Ron and the boys. Ryan went to fish up on the dock and was later joined by Mattie. Ryan caught a small flounder, a sea bass and a catfish. We had rum drinks and lunch at Sharky’s. OK Karen and I had many Rum drinks. After the beach we had to go the White Elephant for more drinks and Ryan talked everyone into some gator bites which were pretty good, mostly because of the sauce, not because they were gator. We walked over to catch the sunset and then drove home.
What a great time we had! Again, I forgot to take pictures but here is the only one Caleb took.
Thank you Mary and Dennis for your wonderful hospitality. We had a great time!
